YOU WILL NEED
1 MARINE BATTERY
1 BATTERY BOX
16 + FEET OF #2 WELDING CABLE (FROM ENGINE BATTERY TO MINUTE MAN BATTERY)
INCLUDED IS ONE 6 BUTTON HAND CONTROLLER, 12 + FEET OF WIRE WITH (8) NO.18 LEADS( WIRED). (1) 39 INCH NEGTIVE BATTERY CABLE [THIS IS FOR THE LEAD CABLE FROM THE BATTERY TO THE FRAME ( FROM THE BATTERY TO FIRST PUMP MOUNT. GROUND THIS CABLE TO THE PUMP MOUNT BRACKET BOLT).].

(1) 48 INCH POSTIVE CABLE (6) COPPER CONNECTORS (THE CONNECTOR CAN EITHER BE CRIMPED OR SOLDERED, I PREFER TO SOLDER THE CONNECTORS IN PLACE). ASSORTMENT OF SMALL CONNECTORS FOR YOUR HAND CONTROLLER.
**ALREADY DONE AT THE FACTORY**
1. THE HAND CONTROLLER IS VERY SIMPLE. REMOVE THE BACK COVER AND YOU WILL SEE (2) SCREWS AT THE NECK OF THE CONTROLLER REMEMBER HOW THESE ARE IN PLACE. THIS IS WHAT HOLDS THE CABLE FROM PULLING LOOSE FROM THE HAND CONTROLLER.
2. STRIP BACK THE CASING ON THE CABLE AND EXPOSE THE (8) NO.18 LEADS ( STRIP BACK THE CASING ONLY AS FAR BACK AS THE CONTROLLER IS LONG). YOU WILL SEE SIX SCREWS ON ONE SIDE. THIS IS WHERE YOU PLACE THE CONNECTORS THAT CONTROL YOUR SOLENOIDS (ORANGE, GREEN, RED AND BLACK, RED AND WHITE AND BLACK AND WHITE AND BLUE THE BLUE WIRE IS CONNECTED TO THE DIODES ON THE BACK OF THE HANDE CONTROLLER, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT COLOR JUST AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER WHAT COLORS WENT TO WHAT BUTTON. WRITE IT DOWN, THE BLACK IS ALWAYS THE HOT LEAD). I LIKE OPEN END WIRE CONNECTOR FOR THE INSIDE OF THE HAND CONTROLLER, AND PLEASE SOLDER ALL CONNECTORS, CRIMPED WIRES PULL LOOSE. (SHORTEN THE WIRE LEADS AS YOU WORK YOUR WAY BACK TO NECK OF THE CONTROLLER).

3. REASSEMBLE YOUR HAND CONTROLLER.
**INSTALLING THE HAND CONTROLLER**
4. RUN YOUR HAND CONTROLLER WIRE TO THE PUMP AND VALVE BODY AREA ( MANY INSTALLERS RUN THE WIRE THROUGH THE SLIDING WINDOW, TO ELIMINATE INSTALLING THE HAND CONTROLLER THROUGH THE SLIDING WINDOW. FIND A RUBBER PLUG UNDER THE CAB, TRY TO FIND ONE THAT WILL BRING THE CONTROL WIRE UP BEHIND THE SEAT. DRILL A 1/2 INCH HOLE IN THE RUBBER PLUG AND RUN YOUR CABLE THROUGH IT AND REINSERT THE PLUG BACK INTO THE METAL FRAMING. THIS SOUNDS HARD BUT IT ONLY TAKE A FEW MORE MINUTES AND MAKES A MUCH NICER JOB. THE WIND NOISE WON’T DRIVE YOU NUTS FROM THE SLIDING WINDOW). TAKE YOUR OTHER CABLE END, STRETCH IT OVER TO THE
LIFTING PUMP AND MEASURE BACK TO THE VALVE BODY PUMP, NOW STRIP THE CASING BACK (THIS IS ABOUT 12 INCHES) AND EXPOSE THE (8) NO. 18 LEADS, YOU NEED TO RUN TWO WIRE LEADS TO LIFTING PUMP. THE BLUE WIRE GOES TO THE SMALL CONNECTOR ON THE SELANOID AND THE BLACK WIRE GOES WITH THE POWER CABLE FROM THE BATTERY.

5. INSTALL THE BATTERY CABLE. CONNECT THE CABLE FROM THE SOLENOID CLOSEST TO THE BOOM ON THE VALVE BODY PUMP. (THERE ARE TWO LARGE POSTS WITH 1/2 OR 9/16 INCH NUTS. ONE POST HAS A CABLE RUNNING TO THE MOTOR AND ONE DOESN’T. ATTACH THE BATTERY CABLE TO THE POST THAT DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING ELSE ON IT).
6. NOW TAPE THE HAND CONTROLLER LEAD WIRES TO THE BATTERY CABLE OR HOSES, SO THERE ARE NO LOSE WIRES.
7. CUT YOUR BLACK LEAD JUST LONG ENOUGH ( WITH A LITTLE SLACK) AND SOLDER A ROUND CONNECTOR ON. ATTACH THE CONNECTOR WITH THE BLACK LEAD WIRE ON THE POST AND THEN ATTACH THE 48 INCH BATTERY CABLE (BATTERY TO PUMP) OVER THE BLACK LEAD WIRE AND CONNECTOR AND TIGHTEN THE 1/2 OR 9/16 NUT. TAKE THE BATTERY CABLE AND RUN IT BEHIND THE BOOM SUPPORT TO THE BATTERY AND ATTACH IT TO THE POSITIVE BATTERY POST ( I LIKE A MARINE BATTERY BECAUSE OF THE MULTI BATTERY POST).
8. YOU HAVE 6 LEAD WIRES LEFT. THE GREEN/ORANGE WIRE GOES TO THE CENTER BLOCK OF THE VALVE BODY UP/DOWN. THE WHT/WHT-BLK WIRE GOES TO THE BLOCK CLOSEST TO THE BOOM THESE WIRE CONTROL THE OPEN/CLOSE THE RED/RED-BLK WIRE GOES TO THE BLOCK CLOSEST TO THE PUMP THIS BLOCK CONTROLS IN/OUT .

9. WIRE TIE YOUR HAND CONTROLLER CABLE TO THE HYDRAULIC HOSES TO KEEP THEM FROM BEING PULLED LOOSE
10. OPTIONAL: RUN A NO. 02 WELDING CABLE FROM YOUR TRUCK BATTERY TO YOUR MINUTE MAN BATTERY SO YOUR LIFT BATTERY WILL ALWAYS BE CHARGING. (YOU WILL NEED ABOUT 15 FEET OF CABLE, TWO COPPER CONNECTORS AND ONE 9/16 NUT FOR THE BATTERY POST. RUN THE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY AREA FIRST, KEEP THE WIRE AWAY FROM THE MANIFOLDS OR ANY HOT AREAS. WIRE TIE YOUR CHARGING CABLE TO THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR TRUCK FRAME RAIL USING THE PASSENGER SIDE. RUN THE CHARGING CABLE BETWEEN THE CAB AND THE BOX UP AND OVER THE BOX TO THE BATTERY AND CONNECT TO THE POSITIVE POST. MAKE SURE THE OTHER END OF THE CHARGING CABLE IS NOT TOUCHING ANY PART OF THE FRAME WHEN YOU CONNECT TO THE POSITIVE BATTERY POST). THIS IS THE WAY MOST TRUCKS ARE SET UP. THE TWO BATTERY SYSTEMS SAVES YOU MONEY ON ALTERNATOR REPAIR. YOU CAN LEAVE THE BATTERY AS A STAND ALONE UNIT BUT MAY NEED, TO CHARGE THE BATTERY A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK.

THE WIRE IN THE HAND CONTROLER CAN BE MIXED UP THE IMPORTANT WIRES ARE THE YELLOW WIRE, PLEASE KEEP THE RED WIRE AND WHITE WIRE TOGETHER AND THE ORANGE AND GREEN TOGETHER. YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE THEM FOR THE FUNTIONS LATER.
